Hello Thomas!

So nice to hear from you! [...]

I am 83 now and feeling all the "joys" of the supposed "Golden Years" — HA. I still miss Jane Wyman. I pass her last home in Rancho Mirage every time I go to my various doctors at Eisenhower Medical Center. What a lady. [...]

Have a wonderful Christmas and a safe & healthy New Year. Tiny Tim: "God bless us every one."

DONNA GOLDBERG ALBERT,
executive producers' assistant (seasons 6 through 9):

Hi, Thomas,

It's nice to hear from you.

We are fine — staying in except for visits to doctors and walking the dog. Our government has botched its reaction to the virus, as I'm sure you know. We are all praying that the incoming Biden/Harris administration will return us to a semblance of normalcy as well as correct the damage that has been done in the last four years.

All the best to you and the "Falcon Crest" team.

Warm regards,

Donna

JANE SCHWARTZ JANIGER,

Hi Thomas,

So good to hear from you.

We're doing well, thanks. Looking forward to 2021 and hopefully a fresh start and an end to the virus.

Best wishes to you and your family for a Merry Xmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

Keep in touch.

Jane

Thomas —

So good to hear from you... and sorry indeed we never saw you in 2020.

Yes, this COVID thing has fairly well turned much of the world on its ear... but we're being fairly conservative and have managed to avoid any problems in our family.
Santa Barbara — midway between L.A. and San Francisco population centers — has remained "fairly" safe, with relatively few cases and deaths. The rest of California is quite a problem, as many fail to take the virus seriously. Businesses and commerce are at a bit of a standstill, however.

We've been just as active as ever, blessed by the fact that we've been using the internet for business purposes for so long now. In June Suzanne began The Wiki Screenplay Contest which has managed to generate more action than we could ever have anticipated. We now have a team of 20 working full time just to handle the workflow. Preceding that, we've built the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards to the point where we're seeing 5,000 scripts annually. It's actually quite fun to discover new writing talent... and to work with a team of readers (one of whom is in Germany!) from around the world. There are a lot of very good writers and smart folks out there who are just looking for that "showbiz" break.

I've also been ghostwriting for clients, published a couple of good (and some not-quite-so-genius) books... so busy, busy, busy.

We'll be having a very quiet Christmas at home, and hope you do the same for your older family members, and that the Holidays bring you peace, joy, and love.

Best always,

Bob

STEPHEN BLACK & HENRY STERN,
writers, executive script consultants and co-producers (seasons 2, 3 and 8):

Dec 13, 2020

Dear Thomas and Dörthe.

[...] Henry is about to complete in rehab center physical therapy. He is walking with a walker and walks the corridors under close watch of his therapist following behind. He makes the rounds of the various nursing stations spreading humor and smiles. After all a good part of his recovery is due to the nurses. Of course the mechanics have been coached by the therapists. He has set his own date for discharge and return home for December 23. So we will enjoy our 51st Christmas together.

Your holiday with family sounds wonderful. Here's hoping our lives are free of this pandemic in 2021. Those of us who are ashamed of the current president have measured optimism of what Joe and Kamala will be able to deliver despite opposite aisle opposition.

Anyway there is a sign of hope abounding.

Thank you again for reaching out.

Warm regards,

Henry and Steve

Hi Thomas!

I commend you both on your self-quarantining, that's a lovely thing to do for your parents' safety! [...]

A Very Merry Christmas to you and Dörthe and blessings for a MUCH Happier New Year!!!

xoxo Kathy and Fam

KAREN DAVIS,
set costumer ("The Vintage Years" and seasons 2 through 9):

Dec 23, 2020

Dear Dörthe and Thomas:

Yes, I am alive and well and have been able to escape the dreaded virus. Oh my — 2020 is the year we want to forget, but never will. I hope you are still healthy and safe — words I never thought I would need to ask. Who would think masks would be a fashion statement!!! Every year the holiday season gives us time to reflect on the things we're grateful for, and look back at the year that was. I'm looking forward to the virus shot and being able to see my friends and family again. I haven't seen my family since last Christmas.

Did you know that Abby Dalton passed away [...]? She was in her 80's. I don't know the cause. I recently talked to Susan Sullivan and she is well and said the same of Ana Alicia and David Selby. [...] That's all I know of the "Falcon Crest" people.

I'll try to write more in 2021. Let's hope this pandemic comes to an end. I will try to keep my spirits up and you guys do the same.

Warmest regards for this holiday season

XOXO Karen
