To all those "Falcon Crest" fans out there!
WARNER BROS. has finally decided to release my show! The news came as a complete surprise to me. I never would have expected it because it was a LORIMAR owned show. I guess they finally figured out who would get what part of the release and went ahead and did it. I hope this isn't a joke because I would really like to have copies of our first season. Back in those days I didn't think that saving the shows for the future was important. I was too busy being the TV star and all! Couldn't be bothered. But as I have gotten older, I have come to realize how important it is to save mementos of your life. Whether they be school records, love letters, pictures, anything that connects the mind to the existence as we know it to this day. I used to throw everything away to save clutter. Now, I just have a room in my house to keep all the clutter! One day, when I'm real old and my kids have kids, I'll try to get around to writing a book about my life and having these shows to remind me of a bygone era will be terrific. So, I want to give a shoutout to all the "Falcon Crest" fans out there. I meet you from time to time and I appreciate the kind words and memories that you share with me on this great show. I always felt that we were sort of the black sheep of prime time soaps. They did far more advertising and promotion for "Dallas" and "Knots Landing" and we in the cast sometimes wondered why that was so. But you guys have been loyal to the core and we all want to thank you.
See you all soon,

Even though STEPHEN BLACK and I were not involved in the first season of "Falcon Crest" it is very gratifying to see that the series is now being released on DVD. For us it was always more challenging and dare I say, more fun, to plot and structure this show because of its Gothic characters. We always tried to let these characters lead the story instead of the other way around and that is why the basic human emotions they exhibited are every bit as valid today as they were in the 80s when we wrote them. I look forward to getting my hands on a copy of the DVD and watching the lives of our friends in the Tuscany Valley unfold once more. I hope you will all enjoy it as well.
